Project Information


Food Fighter is a fighting game for browser and mobile, centred around the Beano character Bananaman and the baddies of Beanotown. Players can choose between 4 playable characters across 2 unique levels. The game features both single player and local multiplayer options. Winning 2 rounds against an opponent will provide the player with unique dialog based on the 2 characters chosen and their fighting statistics.

Food Fighter was advertised in the Beano comic to coincide with Bananaman’s 40th anniversary.

My roles on Food Fighter:

  • Creating art for characters and backdrops
  • 2 bespoke levels – Street and Rooftop Levels
  • 4 playable characters with over 70 animation frames per playable character.
  • Implementing on-brand dialog.
  • Creating title art and preview images for the game and site.
  • Designing and implementing UI – menus, control scheme displays, character selector and results screen.
  • Testing and balancing the combat system for singleplayer and multiplayer
  • Implementing dynamic spectators who react to the fight.
